Cynthia Popper grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in English Literature and Mills College with a M.A. in English and American Literature. She has over a decade of copywriting and branding experience in lifestyle, tech, and beauty, working with such brands as Benefit, bareMinerals, Smith & Hawken, Coffee & Power, and Mindjet. While writing is always at the forefront of her creative world, her marketing obsessions include content strategy, messaging, brand consistency, and agile evolution.

Additionally, Cynthia has written for travel, collaborating on special projects for Crown Guides and TODO Magazine in San Francisco. During her two years living in Tokyo, Japan, her articles were featured in Refinery29, Nylon Singapore, Japan Today, GaijinPot, and Savvy Tokyo. She’s also an established print model and actress, and has been featured in campaigns for Sony, Apple, IKEA, and The Fairmont. She’s the author of “The Model Start-Up,” a practical guide for starting a career in the commercial print industry (now available on Amazon.com).

Cynthia loves yoga, Japanese arts and crafts, antebellum print culture, and libraries. When she’s not working, she can be found planning her next trip in Asia or possibly, standing on her head.
